The Catholic Church teaches that parents have the first responsibility for the education of their children. At St. Mary's, we hope to encourage you in this responsibility by providing resources, discussion, and catechesis so you are well-equipped to share the Catholic Faith with your children. If you ever have any questions about specific Catholic teachings or would like guidance on resources to share with your family, please reach out to us at smrockville@gmail.com.
To help you in sharing our Catholic Faith, St. Mary's will be providing ongoing faith formation opportunities for parents throughout the school year. All CCD parents are asked to participate in these activities as they are able. These opportunities will be provided through videos available for your viewing from home on your schedule, an online discussion board, and occasional parent meetings by Zoom video calls. New content will be uploaded here and shared by e-mail to CCD parents every month, beginning in October.
On-Demand Content for Parents
For our October parent faith formation, all parents are encouraged to view one or more of the below videos. With the Presidential Election coming up, these first videos focus on Faithful Citizenship and how Catholics can best prepare to vote in political elections and participate in our civic society. With All Saints' Day this Sunday, we have also provided two videos on the Church's teachings on Saints, All Saints' Day, and inspiration for each of us to become saints!
