Mission
Statement
The St.
Mary's Office for Youth Ministry and the St. Mary's Catholic Youth
Organization empower organizations within the parish to serve
today's young Church members. These various organizations led by our
adult members are called to guide our youth so that together we
build a strong Catholic family. These organizations are designed to
nurture our young people and help them grow in their service to
Jesus Christ and His Church.
Our
Vision
We
recognize that this ministry ~ to, with and for our young
people, is best rooted in the parish. The St. Mary's Office for
Youth Ministry and the Catholic Youth Organization look to the day
when all young people of the parish are reached by this important
ministry. To achieve this goal, we provide a model for a
comprehensive approach that includes spiritual, catechetical,
dutiful, physical and social direction.
Our
Objectives
Specifically,
we empower those engaged in youth ministry to respond to the needs
of today's young Church members by:
+ Providing training and resources to parish and school personnel
+ Providing opportunities for youth and adults to become educated
about the risks within today's society, so as to instill skills
necessary to live morally productive lives
+ Oversee parish and school programs that promote Christian values
while encouraging healthy physical activity
+ Assist in the development of leaders called to serve their
communities in the spirit of Jesus Christ
+ Seek and promote a connection between parishes and young adult
communities
Ultimately,
we want to draw the youth and young adults of our parish and those
called to serve them into a more responsible participation in the
life and mission of Jesus Christ and His Church.
